Salem Stamp Society Club History
	Founded in 1933, the Salem Stamp Society, is located in Salem, Oregon. It is dedicated to the hobby of stamps and the enjoyment of the hobby of philately. The club was an early member of the Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs which is a sponsor of PIPEX, and is affiliated with the Oregon Philatelic Congress and the American Philatelic Society. We are a State of Oregon non-profit organization. Meetings are open to all! We currently have 95 members and hold monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. Meeting topics are varied and have included APS slide shows, presentations by club members, discussions on Ebay and the internet, and much more. The meetings feature door prizes, a bid board, and club/member auctions. We sponsor two stamp bourses and exhibitions every year in the Spring and Fall. Stampex events draw collectors and dealers from the entire Pacific Northwest. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month and are open to all. Please consider dropping by!
	Edwin R. Payne Memorial Plaque for postal history research from 1962 to 1974 This plaque was donated by long time Salem Stamp Society club member Al Wingat.
The postcard pictured on the right was mailed on December 3rd 1934 at 10:30 AM. The sender Connell C Ward anticipated that this notice would arrive in time at the Salem address, for this person to attend the meeting held that same day. Notice the Beaver and Maple Leaf Cachet on the back of the card. He used this card not only for the Salem Stamp Society announcements, but also for the Canadian Association of Portland. This card was donated and is now in the Salem Stamp Society Archives.

Mary Vasolo will talk about her pictorial cancels, Linda Geerlings will show new additions to her eclectic philatelic collection, and Frans Geerlings has a short presentation on ships on stamps.
